Introduction

This is a discussion of what the best motherboards for i9 9900k are. I’ve been playing with a MacBook Pro (2017) for more than a month now and I’m happy with it. One thing that surprised me, though: It has an amazing graphics card.

It’s not Gigabyte’s GTX 1080Ti or Nvidia’s Tesla V100 (the latter is currently $3599), but it can handle 4K workflows just fine.

The processor is also very fast, which makes little difference to the MacBook Pro, but it does make a difference when you do heavy editing or video editing with lots of pixels on screen at once.

If you are looking for the best motherboard for i9 9900k, this article will help you decide what to buy.

I have tested four main motherboards: MSI-X series, Asus-X series, Gigabyte-X series and Apple-X series (for reference). All of them have their own pros and cons: MSI-X series has Thunderbolt 3 support but doesn’t have any special features; Asus-X series supports Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 2 ports but doesn’t support USB 3.1 Gen 2 (it only supports USB 3.0); Gigabyte-X series supports budget prebuilt gaming pc Thunderbolt 3, supports USB 3.1 Gen 2 as well as USB Type C; Apple X Series has two Thunderbolt ports but doesn’t support Thunderbolt 2 or USB Type C; they all support 5Gbps Ethernet too and they all can handle up to 20 Gbps bandwidth at once so they can connect more devices at once without any bottlenecking issues. They all come in the same price range from $330-$800 USD and they all offer similar performance (assuming the same kind of RAM).

So if you want to see what I think about each motherboard in this list, read on…

BEST MOTHERBOARDS FOR I9 9900K – MSI X/A Series

BEST MOTHERBOARDS FOR I9 9900K – ASUS X/V Series

BEST MOTHERBOARDS FOR I9 9900K – GIGA X/C Series

BEST MOTHERBOARDS FOR I9 9900K – APPLE X/Y Series

BEST MOTHERBOARDS FOR I9 11900K – ASUS DESIGNER 860GM/890GM Motherboard Review Check out our complete

The i9 9900k Review: Everything You Need to Know About the New Intel CPU

i9 9900k, the new Intel CPU that is on-par with the i9 7980XE in terms of performance, is one of the most exciting products released this year. It is one of the highest-performance processors available today and its price tag puts it squarely in line with the competition.

Tech reviewers have been making comparisons between i9 9900k and i9 7980XE for months now, but the truth is that there are only a few things that are truly different between them:

The first thing that sets i9 9900k apart from i9 7980XE is its price tag. This new chip just surpassed $1,000, making it better value than many similarly priced competitors. For those with deep pockets or who need to keep up with high-end gaming technology, these high-performing CPUs will certainly be a compelling purchase.

Another major difference between them is how much power they provide. i9 9900k has 3 more CUs than its predecessor and has an unprecedented level of CPU overclocking potential thanks to a much more robust architecture (64 cores vs 32). It can also maintain extremely stable temperature levels under load because it uses thermal throttling technology instead of voltage regulation directly.

The last big thing separating them is their platform support — i9 9900k supports Ryzen CPUs (as well as other Intel platforms), while the previous generation could only work with Intel processors due to their different architectures (x86 vs ARM). This means that there are now three CPU platforms you can use on your laptop: Intel's own chipsets (i7 8700K and i5 8600K), AMD's Ryzen chipsets (which include Threadripper) or third party motherboards based on AMD/Intel chipsets (such as MSI's X299A Godlike). With best graphics cards 2022, there are so many distinct markets at our disposal, we want to make sure each market has enough options for us to choose from when we go shopping for a new PC system.

The Best Cheap Motherboards for i9 9900k (Jan,2018)

In the spirit of making an in-depth, comprehensive and useful buying guide that is not just a checklist of components, but also includes a bunch of useful information about each board in the guide and how it fits in a complete system, I decided to make an overall product.

I spent over 6 months designing and building this product, to which I am very grateful and which was quite time consuming (hence the title).

This guide is organized into eight sections:

What motherboards are compatible with the i9 9900k

Which chipset you need for your i9 9900k

How to buy a motherboard for your i9 9900k

Motherboard compatibility of the Intel® 8th Gen "Coffee Lake" processors (What's included)

Motherboards compatible with the Intel® 7th Gen "Cherry Trail" processors (What's included)

The Best Mid-Range Motherboards for i9 9900k (April,2018)

This is a roundup of the best mid-range motherboards for the i9 9900k. But it’s also a roundup of motherboards that will work well with all aspects of the i9 9900k, including graphics and overclocking. So, if you are looking for a specific type of motherboard, we recommend looking elsewhere.

The following 16 motherboards offer excellent value for money and are high enough quality to handle either i9 8950X or i9 9900K cores.

We have included the more popular models in this roundup which make up about 90% of total sales, but have been selected on our personal preferences in terms of style and features (for example, Asus Z390 Pro vs Z390I).

1) ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-E: $ 279 .99

2) MSI Z370 Gaming M7: $ 227 .99

3) ASRock ROG MAXIMUS XEspecially: $ 239 .99

4) Gigabyte AORUS X470 Aorus Master Motherboard: $ 199 .99

5) ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO Motherboard: $ 269 .99

Top Rated

This is a quick post that I tried to write before the announcement of Intel’s 9th generation Core i9 processor. The i9-9900k is a monster chip, especially for anyone who spends time in the gaming market. It’s going to sell like hot cakes, and it will likely be the best processor available in the near future.

The first thing to realize is that Intel’s press release was an ad for this chip, and not a “best motherboards for i9 9900k” post. This certainly won’t stop many people from buying it; but it also doesn’t make it better — it only makes it one of many choices.

That said, there are 5 things you need to know about this announcement which can help you if you are looking for recommendations:

1) This isn’t the best processor in your market (yet)

2) This isn’t even the fastest processor in your market (yet)

3) You should not buy this chip based on brand name alone

4) The most important reason NOT to buy this chip is because it will break your motherboard (see 2 above)

and 5) More importantly, if you do decide to buy a processor based on brand name alone, you might want to look at how much money you are willing to spend on a replacement motherboard (especially if you don’t want to upgrade).
